Aniruddha Biswas, Still Connecting, 2026, installation view of small oil paintings on wood made from blurred video-call screenshots and partially erased with acetone.

Still Connecting

2026

Still Connecting takes blurred screenshots from video calls as its starting point. These images, already marked by distance, low resolution and technological interruption, are translated into painting before being partially erased or dissolved.

The painted surface becomes a space between appearance and disappearance. A face, gesture or presence is never fully restored; it remains unstable, suspended between recognition and loss of clarity. The image connected to home returns not as clear evidence, but as a fragile presence altered by distance, memory and time.
